After 3 1/2 years of faithful service as an MP3 player, video player, internet browser, alarm clock and organizer, my trusty Palm Zire 71 died today after being crushed.
The faitful moment occurred in an elevator, safely packed (or so I thought) in it’s case. When two people crushed their way into the lift I was pushed against the wall and poor Palm had it’s screen broken.
Anyway, other party in question has offered to pay for damages so hopefully he’ll keep his word and a suitable replacement will be found.
I’m not going to have as much to do on train trip home though, I might have to read a book…

Hey terrible news about the palm, especially on the back of your pooter troubles.
When we meet up next I can give you back your old one so you have something to use while you wait to get a new one.
Aw that’s devistating! That thing was awesome, especially the camera, and even if I didn’t get to screw around with putting reminders and budgets and stuff in it as much as the last one.
Also what noodles! How poo it is to squish you against the elevator! Especially since you’ve bascially become the conductor (or in CityRail Newspeak, “Train Guard” [how boring]) of that elevator! Maybe you should squish their PalmZires, and if they don’t have it, their various MP3 players, video players (TV, computer etc.), Internet browswers, alarm clocks, organisers and finally their actual palms.
lol Well to be fair, I don’t think the people who tried to squish into the elevator expected that they would destroy someone’s palm pilot so breaking their hands is probably a little extreme. I’m sure it was just an accident…
